Who was your favorite ELEMENTARY teacher & why?

My favorite was Mrs. Parnell. She told me that I was the best reader she ever had. She let me narrate every single play we did. She also let me stand on the table to read and I thought that was super cool. I'm sure she told every student they were her best reader, but I truly felt she believed in me.

  1. My favorite elementary teachers were Mrs. Sprouse (K), Mrs. Sprayberry (2), Mrs. Mitchell (librarian K-2), Mrs. Kirkland (3), Mr. Orr (4-math/science) & Mrs. Gilbert (math) Mrs. Sprouse & Mrs. Kirkland made learning come to life! I'm a hands on learner- that's what their classes consisted of. I despised watching movies/ videos....learned nothing from them! Thankful none of these teachers 'taught' through videos. Our librarian made reading come to life. In our K-2 llibrary we had our own magic school bus! We raised baby chicks. The list could go on and on with Mrs. Mitchell! She taught us reading beyond AR. (Even though I did enjoy competing with the boys for most points!) Math is my jam! I guess that's why I loved Mr. Orr and Mrs. Gilbert so!

  2. I loved most of my teachers so it is hard to pick a favorite. I adored my third grade teacher, Mrs. Charlotte Elkins. She loved me and I always felt I was her favorite (even though I probably wasn't the only one who felt that way). She made me feel special and smart. I still see her around town today, and she seems to enjoy hearing about my teaching career.

  3. I had several teachers growing up that I really liked. Probably my favorite teacher was actually my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Ramsey. She was one of the most kind, soft spoken, and caring teachers that I have ever known! All throughout the years she has always kept up with me and is interested in the things going on throughout my life.

  4. My favorite was my second grade teacher, Mrs. Donaldson. She LOVED teaching and you could just tell. She had a piano in her room, and we would sing songs EVERY morning. She taught us about America and patriotism through those songs. She believed in me and loved me like I was her own. I still see her around and she's just as sweet now as she was then.

  5. My favorite teacher was my 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Parnell. It was apparent that she loved to teach and she loved us. She had a love of learning, and it wasn't only confined to what our books said we had to do. I don't remember her ever being mad at anyone, although I'm sure she was at times. I learned lots of things in her class because we did lots of experiments, performed several plays, sang lots of songs, and went on several field trips. She read the Laura Ingalls Wilder books and we even had old fashioned day, where we got to dress up, make butter, eat old fashioned food, and play games like they did in the book! We wrapped it up with a field trip to Old York USA for Pioneer Day. We also played games a lot to learn our spelling, multiplication, and division. If you were one of the lucky winners of the games you would get gummy bears or gummy worms! She was always interested in what I did, and even today when I see her in public she still knows my name, and always asks about whats been going on in my life.

  6. I had lots of teachers that I loved throughout school. But my favorite one had to be Mrs. Young. She was my 1st grade teacher in Hawaii. I was a shy, quiet, sad little girl. My dad had left us and my mom moved us from GA to Hawaii. I knew no one and the culture was so different from the south. She loved on me and made me feel like I was part of a family when I needed it most. She took that shy, quiet, sad little girl and made her into a happy, bubbly little girl.

  7. I'm really late on this, but my favorite elementary teacher was Mrs. June Kinley. She was incredibly patient, had an awesome sense of humor, and she saw each of her students as unique individuals. She really challenged us to be in competition with ourselves. She also is a major reason I love to read so much today. She's a great lady, and we still see each other from time to time. Whenever we do see one another, she makes my day because even after all these years, she can share very specific memories of me. I know that I meant something to her.
